Principal

Greg Finlayson is an owner and principal of Impact Economic Consultants Inc. and Finlayson and Associates Consulting Inc. He is an experienced health services researcher, and leader in responding to complex questions concerning health service utilization.

He received a PhD in Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago, in the Division of Health Policy and Administration. His doctoral research investigated the allocation of funding for health services.

In 2013 he became the Economic Consultant to the Manitoba Dental Association. Subsequently, in 2015, he joined the RKH Economic Consultants Ltd. (“RKH”) team, providing economic consulting services to the British Columbia Dental Association, the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan, the Dental Association of Prince Edward Island and the Nova Scotia Dental Association. In 2016 he joined Kristine May and Lindsay McGarvey as a principal of Impact Economic Consultants Inc., assuming the responsibilities of the former RKH.

From 1997 to 2015 Greg was a research scientist at the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy (MCHP) in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. During his time at MCHP he led or participated in 17 major research projects. Prior to joining MCHP he worked as the Membership Services Director at the Manitoba Dental Association for 4 years (during which time he achieved a Certified Association Executive designation), preceded by multiple positions (both technical and management) over a 13 year period with the Canadian Red Cross, Manitoba Division.

Greg lives in Kingston, Ontario. His community involvement includes sitting as a director on the boards of the Carolyn Sifton Foundation, the Seniors Association Kingston Region, and Shared Support Services of Southeastern Ontario (3SO).
